Trying new things is a prominent part of the life of 23 year old, Georgetown Alumni Amber N. Dorsey.
Dorsey considers herself a very outgoing person and loves to try new things. "The first time I tried alligator I was very impressed", said Dorsey. Dorsey was dared by a group of friends to try an exotic food and to their surprise, she loved it!
Recently, Dorsey attended an event called Tryvertising which dares consumers to try new things. Tryvertising gives consumers a new way to replace advertising for those who are tired of the same old commercials, ads, and billboards. It is a way in which consumers can become familiar with a product by actually trying it out.
"I encourage everyone to be impartial and go out and try something new for yourself rather than taking the advice of a commercial," Dorsey said. "This helps the consumers make up their minds based on their experiences, and not the messages of the advertiser."
Tryvertising allows consumers to 'try before you buy' and focuses on letting the consumer choose the product and not letting advertisers influence their decisions for them.
